Located at each of the entrances to the Östermalmstorg metro station. Both stand out from their surroundings, can be seen from a distance and are easy to describe. They are public tools that contribute to an efficient flow of metro users to and from the trains.
The CAROUSEL seating object reflects the movement of crowds in the aisles of this mass transport hub in central Stockholm. It speaks to the viewer on an almost physical level with its pearl band of feet that is the work's visual "hook".
As meeting points and public furniture in Östermalmstorg's metro station, CAPSULE and CAROUSEL are landmarks in an environment where many people move at different rates and with different degrees of focus. The seats are used alternately as meeting points, for rest, a place to lean or somewhere to dig through a bag to find your travel pass.
