Is a carefully considered response to the architect's vision of the schoolyard's structure and formative composition. The construction uses graphic references from both the older building and new buildings that define the site. The shape of Paul Hedqvist's pyramid roof from the “big house” is found in the most important element of STAGE, the entrance.
STAGE is visual magnet drawing the eye to its focal point on its left side where linear patterns meet. The entrance directs the audience's focus with the targeted corrugations in the sheet metal walls and ceiling. STAGE is a static attention machine whose task is to lift the user and give her the status that a person standing in the middle of a stage deserves.
”The main material here is hot-dip galvanized HEA beam and lacquered, corrugated sheet metal, the folds of which form a linear pattern. The floor is covered with a light terrazzo tile. A tree, which links the design with the surrounding nature, is located in the eastern part of the stage.
But its geometric shapes and bold colors make STAGE a visual presence. It has the dignity of an abstract sculpture, at the same time framing the events for which the stage is intended.”
